Luxury Garden Transformation
This landscaping project in Preston transformed the garden into a refined outdoor living space designed for relaxing, entertaining and year round enjoyment.
The project included a custom built garden outbuilding, a 32m² Kandla Grey Indian sandstone patio, Black Ice decorative gravel, timber sleeper edging and a 4m × 4m black aluminium pergola with retractable side screens. Together, these features create a stylish and highly practical garden with a consistent, premium finish.
Custom Built Garden Outbuilding
A bespoke timber outbuilding was designed and constructed specifically for the garden, creating a versatile space that complements the surrounding landscaping.
The building forms a striking focal point within the garden and provides a comfortable area that can be used for entertaining, relaxing, working from home or as a private garden retreat.
Its contemporary design works perfectly alongside the black aluminium pergola and the darker detailing used throughout the wider project.
32m² Kandla Grey Indian Sandstone Patio
We installed a 32m² Kandla Grey Indian sandstone patio to create a spacious area for outdoor dining, seating and entertaining.
The natural stone contains subtle variations in tone and texture, giving the patio depth and individual character. Its soft grey colouring complements the black aluminium pergola while connecting naturally with the timber outbuilding, sleeper edging and surrounding greenery.
The area was carefully prepared and constructed with suitable levels and falls to create a durable outdoor surface designed for regular use.
4m × 4m Black Aluminium Pergola
A 4m × 4m black aluminium pergola was installed over the main seating area, creating a defined outdoor room within the garden.
The pergola includes integrated retractable side screens that can be rolled up or lowered whenever required. When closed, the screens provide additional privacy and shelter from wind and changing weather. When raised, they open the space back up and maintain a clear connection with the surrounding garden.
Its bold black frame creates a clean architectural contrast against the natural Kandla Grey sandstone. The generous 4m × 4m footprint provides plenty of room for outdoor furniture, making it an ideal setting for dining, entertaining or relaxing throughout the seasons.
Timber Sleeper Edging
Timber sleeper edging was installed to frame the landscaped areas and create a clear separation between the patio, decorative gravel and adjoining garden.
The warmth of the timber softens the darker finishes and connects the hard landscaping with the natural surroundings. It also gives each section of the garden a clean and carefully defined edge.
Black Ice Decorative Gravel
Black Ice decorative gravel was added around the Indian sandstone patio and sleeper edging to complete the design.
The blend of dark and light stone complements the grey paving and black pergola, while adding texture and contrast around the edges of the hard landscaping. It creates a smart transition between the different materials and contributes to the garden’s polished finish.

The completed Preston garden brings together bespoke construction, natural paving and contemporary outdoor living features in one cohesive design.
